He was missing his slider, not by alot, but just by enough so it was easy for the hitter to take. For a guy that relies alot on his control, he was simply missing his spots. Or if Altuve turns that double play, could have escaped inning with just 1 run.īut Urquidy wasn't completely innocent. If Bregman gets that foul ball, good chance Urquidy gets out of it with no damage. His control was totally gone and was just hoping guys would pop up his fastball. You can tell Urquidy just about had nothing left, but Dusty was desperate to save his bullpen. Schwarber had the green light and he didn't miss. With bases loaded, Urquidy serves up a fastball middle-middle.

JD - He missed with his FB on the first pitch, then his next FB was middle-middle at only 92. Urquidy kept missing with his changeup, which eventually lead to ball four. He was throwing good high fastballs, but Verdugo had no problem fouling them away. He hit a foul ball on pitch #5, which should have been a routine pop up, but Bregman was shifted and couldn't reach it in time. Good velo on his fastball and his slider was sharp!īut then Verdugo battled for 9 more pitches, which eventually ended in a walk. 
Everything at this point was looking phenomenal. In the 2nd, he first struckout Xander on 3 pitches. Urquidy breezed through the first inning, 1-2-3 on 11 pitches. I rewatched the beginning of the Urquidy game against Boston.
